Monster Cookies

The only thing frightening about these cookies is the cost of ingredients, but they’re worth it. Recipe is easy, so involve kids. I used to think my chocolate chip cookie recipe was the best (recipe kept secret) until I discovered this one. Now, I show up with Monster Cookies because they are so good they will scare away any demons. This recipe makes about 4 dozen 5-inch cookies which is my preference because I freeze the extra baked cookies for an instant treat. Uncle Eric

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lbs chocolate chips
  • 1/2 lbs M&M candies
  • 9 cups quick oats
  • 1 1/2 lbs. peanut butter
  • 1/2 lb. slightly melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon white corn syrup
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 C white sugar
  • 1 lbs. brown sugar
  • 6 eggs

Instructions

Drop ingredients (in order listed) in the largest bowl you have. After adding peanut butter mix. Add final 3 ingredients, mix some more and place them 6 or 8 on a cookie sheet. The fun part for kids is dipping an ice cream scooper into the dough and onto the cookie sheet. Flatten the dough, leaving enough space between cookies for them to spread to about 4 inches. Bake them for about 12 minutes at 350 degrees. I let them rest about 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before sliding them onto a wire rack for cooling.

Servings: 4 dozen
Total Time: 1 hour
