Super dark hot fudge with an orange twist


  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup water
  • few shakes of sea salt
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1T-2T butter
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t cointreau


Sift the cocoa to remove any lumps.
Combine water, butter, and salt in a pot and bring to a gentle boil.
Stir and reduce the heat to low.
Add in sugar and stir till it dissolves.
Add in cocoa a bit at a time and stir.
Stir while the mixture melts over low heat.
Let it bubble for up to 5 minutes and stir occasionally to prevent it from burning. Turn down the heat if it even gets close to burning.
Add vanilla and cointreau and stir till buttery smooth for about a minute or so.
Let it sit for a bit to cool.
Store in fridge and enjoy!

Servings: Depends on how much fudge you like on your ice cream
